pick yer poison

in 2023 i started a series of naruto drawings to see if i could still draw the characters from memory (i could), and it rapidly spun out of control until i was drawing as many characters as i could before my brain started dribbling out of my earsit was SO much fun that a few months later i did it with my other favourite manga, dungeon meshi, and found that i loved having a long-form project that i could chip away at when i felt like it, and that would build up into a monstrous canvas full of teeny little guys!

2024 was huge for me because i started my concept art job in january! i also watched succession for the first time and fell head over heels absolutely SILLY for roman and gerri.

looking back, 2023 was a fantastic year for me art-wise!
i spent the first half of the year obsessed with pokemon, had a humongous naruto phase, and discovered how much i love drawing full casts of characters all squished up together. i think i really refined my art style this year!

2022

2022 was a frustrating year for me creatively, and looking back through my gallery i feel like that totally shows in my art.i was making earnest efforts to break into industry at this point and was super dejected when none of my applications went anywhere. this resulted in a body of drawings that feel kind of random and disjointed and not very Me, and i'm relieved that i worked through this in 2023 and started making drawings purely for fun again, cos that's where all of the good stuff came from anyway!!
